While returning to my hometown of Santiago, Chile, I noticed a social trend occurring on the streets. More immigrants were calling Chile their home, especially those fleeing the economic hardship of Haiti. This phenomenon was met with both acceptance and prejudice. To assist with the transition many Haitian children face when arriving to Chile, I co-authored a children's book aimed at addressing the challenges and obstacles of living as an immigrant in a forgiven land.
As for publishing, the book was made as a Cartonero, a book made of cardboard and printed sheets, designed to be affordable and minimize cost of production.
Copies of the original Cartonero books can be found at the Brown University Library, The New York Public Library, and (pending) the Santiago City Library.
