I taught my own course, "Latin America: A Modern Take" to 15 high school students at Blackstone Academy Charter School. My experience as a teacher included designing the course from scratch, effectively presenting lectures to involve students, holding office hours for students that needed extra help, adapting course content to student needs, and grading assignments in a timely manner. I not only enjoyed the experience, but for the first time, I realized I had made an impact on others, giving my students the tools to navigate the world around them while feeling represented.
